Statement of Faith

We declare the following statements to be found only in the Holy Scriptures (the 66 books of the Bible consisting of Old Testament and New Testament portions):

• That there is one God, who is self-existent, eternal and infinite in every excellence, who has revealed Himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, one in Godhead but eternally three in person.

• That Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, the body of Christian believers and that the Holy Spirit is
the guide into all truth That the Holy Scriptures were divinely inspired and are the sufficient and perfect rule of faith and practice.

• That Jesus Christ, the Son of God and the Son of man, came into the world to save all persons from the guilt and condemnation of sin, offering Himself as an atonement for sin, and making that atonement available to all who exercise faith in Him.

• That the sincere acceptance of Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord secures the forgiveness of sins, regeneration through faith in Christ, and peace through the grace and mercy of God and the ministry
of the Holy Spirit.

• That the Church Universal includes the whole company of Christian believers of whatever name, age or country; the Church visible is the company of believers baptised in the name of the Triune God, and observing such forms, ordinances and principles as have New Testament warrant.

How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord,
is laid for your faith in His excellent Word!
What more can He say than to you He hath said,
who unto the Savior for refuge have fled?

(Hymn by John Rippon, 17849)
